We are currently recruiting for an experienced Meat Trader for a renowned Meat wholesaler based in Worsley, Manchester.

The purpose of the role is to create sales activities, including creating meat specifications to maximise savings to the business. To achieve this, you will be:

working with directors and managers to create individual sales specifications.
providing expertise for the company and advice and guidance to colleagues on sales activity.
working to provide an order book.
ensuring compliance with the organisations credit approval policy and procedures.
being an expert resource to work with colleagues to achieve sales targets.
providing directors and management with high-quality analysis and pipeline reporting process.
Base working hours are Monday to Friday 07.00 to 16.00.

Responsibilities will include:

understanding of production time and optimisation to meet customer expectations.
managing customer relationships and negotiations to ensure delivery schedules are met and quality standards are achieved, involving visits to customers.
playing an integral part in ensuring that customers expectations are met in full and on time.
managing the sourcing of new products against NPD projects or trial products and you will be integral within planning meetings to ensure stakeholders are aware of any customer issues.
monthly reporting and presenting to the directors on sales strategy and general market.
working with Production to ensure business stock levels are achieved and maintained.
sourcing new customers.
building and developing working relationships with the sales team.
supporting the sales team with new product requests.
working within credit control guidelines to provide management debt information.

This role would suit candidates with experience in sales, operations, customer service, coaching, project management, supply chain, volume sales, previous experience as a Meat Trader, and experience as a Client Relationship Manager, Sales Manager, Account Manager, or Buyer.

An experienced Meat Trader with a proven track record of delivering volume sales within a trading desk
Strong knowledge of product categories and have the ability to build long-lasting, strong relationships
Excellent relationship management skills
Be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently
Ability to develop good working relationship with managers in other areas of the business and production and planning departments to deliver the common goals of the business in terms of profitability and provision of agreed service levels to customers
Proven experience of trading
Good communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
Sound knowledge of sales and supply chain in practice
The ability to work to tight deadlines
Attention to detail
A strong understanding of the meat industry
Computer literacy and experience of sales order processing

This position is for an immediate start.

Rate of Pay

£40,000.00 – £45,000.00 per year
