This is an exciting opportunity for an Operational Manager to join an industry-leading transport and warehousing solutions company who are offering real career progression. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring that they deliver high-quality services to their customers and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Key Tasks of the role:
Lead and develop the operation team, support and encourage the team to manage their own learning, creating and developing a team working environment.
Manage the day-to-day operations of clients operations.
Act as a key operations leader.
Build relationships with clients by offering advice, solutions, and proactive issue management.
Manage staff, including hiring, training, coaching and performance management.
Conducting training programs to ensure that employees are familiar with their jobs and safe operating procedures
Conduct necessary investigation(s) to determine the cause of problems like accidents (if any arise) and to set up safety measures to avoid the recurrence of such issues.
Develop and implement plans that will lead to improvement in company profit.
Ensure that all staff under their supervision behave in accordance with the company’s handbook, procedures, and values and that performance issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
Oversee the order process maintain standard KPIs.
Organise meetings to share strategy and provide product / organizational updates and branch performance.
Data analysis and oversight of schedule and operations.
Ensure maximum productivity and route management systems and establish productivity goals where needed.
Ensuring continuous review and improvements of operational processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Deliver upon contract service level agreements, expectations and value proposition.
Monitor, improve and report upon KPI’s including the financial performance of accounts and team productivity.
Develop a best-in-class team and workplace culture and effectively manage performance and talent development.
Respond to more complex inquiries and complaints about transit and operational issues.
Reviewing and updating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Ensuring that all vehicles are in good working order and properly maintained.
Scheduling staff to ensure that vehicles are staffed according to established requirements.
The ideal Operations Manager:
Previous experience in managing operations within similar industries is essential.
Excellent commercial awareness and business acumen.
Experience conducting reviews and people management.
Experience customer-facing skills and telephone manners.
You will have experience working with people in an office and warehouse environment.
You must have exceptional management skills.
A ‘can-do’ attitude and a willingness to take on significant challenges.
Great communication skills both written and verbal.
Self-motivated and ability to motivate others.
Adaptable with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good leadership skills and team worker.
Rate of Pay
£37,000.00 – £40,000.00 per hour
